Operation Special Delivery was founded by Patricia Newton after the tragic events of September 11, 2001 to help support expecting mothers whose spouses were deployed, injured, or sacrificed it all. Newton, a doula from southern New Jersey, approached other doulas in her area to find support for women whose partners were lost on 9/11, or would be giving birth without the presence of their partner due to future deployments. What was originally a small scale project became a national mission called Operation Special Delivery.
Today, Operation Special Delivery is a 501c3 providing qualifying military families with professional labor and birth doulas for $500. All members of Operation Special Delivery wish to extend their deepest gratitude to you and your family for the sacrifices that you make each and every day.
