These trainings are specifically for those who primarily
wish to serve as volunteer CAPPA OSD doulas.
CAPPA Labor Doula Training Information
CAPPA offers premier international evidence-based Labor Doula training
and certification programs. There are two different programs:
- Traditional: This is where a student takes a "live" training
over a certain period of time and completes the rest of the certification
requirements.
- Distance: The student orders videotapes of a doula
training if she cannot attend a training or if there is not one scheduled
in her area any time soon.
CAPPA has several Certified Labor Doula trainers across the country to
address your training and certification needs. They can travel to
your facility to offer trainings. Please visit CAPPA's current list
of Labor Doula
Trainings.
To become a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula, please visit the
CAPPA website
to review the requirements. Please email with your questions or for more
information. We're here to help!
For military medical staff and
military family groups, this is a terrific way to incorporate military
wives and others into volunteer military programs to further the cause of
supporting military families during the stressful time of being pregnant
and giving birth during wartime deployments.
For military personnel who wish to bring a CAPPA Labor Doula training to their
bases and posts, please contact CAPPA Director of Operation Special Delivery,
